A quirky girl with a fresh, youthful look. On top of the cute clothes and cat accessories she wears, she is known for her graceful demeanor and powerful stage performances. To the public she always portrays herself as a cat character, and therefore gained many fans among cat lovers and lolita enthusiasts alike. To complete the 'tiger' look she dyed her hair strawberry blonde and uses honey colored contacts. When in her usual stage persona, she becomes this sweet little girl, ready for some fun, pure and child-like at heart, both in speech and action. Once on set, she becomes completely and utterly lost in the role, and she knows how to stay in character. This endearing personality of hers is her best asset. Whether it is her dual personality disorder or a respectable talent is up for speculation. Whatever you call it, this is what makes her a valuable idol.Likes:
animals, specifically cats; they are easier to understand than people obsessed with collecting cat items acting or other forms of public performance rain poetry, literature (she writes poems and lyrics) unexpected good little deeds giving presents Dislikes:
school idiots people (alternatively) being involded into situations that are out of her control people who talk non-stop about nonsense butting into other people's business
Personality:Persona A (Mimi):
Friendly / Enthusiastic / Playful / Sweet: When in her usual stage persona, she becomes this sweet little girl, ready for some fun, pure and child-like at heart, both in speech an action. Once on set, she becomes completely and utterly lost in the role, and she knows how to stay in character. Whether it is her dual personality disorder, or a remarkabe talent is up for speculation.Persona B (Meg):
Stiff / Strict / Unapproachable: When out of character, she becomes anti-social and very hard to talk to. Clean freak; will notice if someone moved her stuffed animal 10 inches to the left. Definitely not a person you'd want to mess with. Unlike 'Mimi', Meg doesn't like to smile a lot. Despite these traits, she still has a good heart, if it really comes to it she won't hesitate to help out a team mate.
A litte bit ocd: Meg: *casually cleans hands with lysol*
Highly Cooperative and Diligent: Surprisingly enough, despite her occasional anti-social disposition, Asami is highly cooperative when it comes to work. She'll don on any clothing, do any project the manager advises her to do, and work over-time if needed. If it's something she can handle, she'll do it with no complaint. She has put this as a standard onto herself.
Highly competitive: She'll pick out her rival/s and strive towards becoming as good, if not better than them. She can bashful when confronted, as she doesn't like admitting her weaknesses. A tsundere.
Selective memory: When in her usual idol persona, 'Mimi', her brain cancels out some memories she has as 'Meg', so basically it's like talking to another person.
When Asami moved together with her mother, from America back to Japan, a lot of things changed. It was during 6th grade. Asami, though Japanese by blood, could barely speak the language. The fact that she was very quiet to begin with didn't exactly help. She had a hard time fitting in with the others kids, who already knew each other for years. So, instead she concentrated on getting good grades and learning Japanese. But because of her ambitious yet aloof personality, she came off as arrogant, and was often misunderstood. Unfortunately, the kids started to team up and bully her behind the teacher's back, and she ended up a shunned loner. 'Mimi' must have been 'created' during this time. To deal with her psychological distress, Asami had made an alternate persona of herself. Megumi was the one who could be cold and deal the all the shi* at school and her parent's bitter divorce, but Mimi was the one who was still happy and lively and carefree. She played Mimi in front of her mother and others outside school, and this has helped her a lot in terms of coping mentally.
After finally starting to understand Japanese much better, Asami went to watch tv and listen to the radio more often. This became one of her favourite past times. And that's where a group of performing young people caught her attention. There was nothing like that in America and Asami was just amazed by their magical stage performances. She grew to adore them, because for some reason, watching them made her feel very happy. She would always look forward to hearing/seeing them on tv. Her idols brightened up her days! Not too long after she picked up gymnastics class, to also train her stamina.
In middle school Asami joined the acting club at school. It soon became apparent that she could convey different emotions effectively, despite her usual stoic self. A raw talent. However, there was this one particular girl who was envious of Asami and continuously tried to drag her down, by back stabbing and encouraging the bullies. The girl always landed the main roles. She belonged to an influential family and was immensely petty and nice to all. Asami didn't realize her evil intents until much later. It was a discouraging discovery, however, Asami stayed silent, shrugged it off with a cold face and kept doing what she could do best; acting. She knew she had no chance against someone of that caliber. Nope, there was no competition to begin with.
Asami went through a revolutionary make-over and auditioned at Oracle. It was Asami's mom who gave her the courage to apply. She always's knew of her daughter's love for idols, and so, as a single mother she decided to give all she could to support Megumi's dream. Asami will never forget her words: 'I believe in you, Mimi-chan.' She did get in through the last wave.
Performing on stage as i dol Mimi, was a dream come true. Asami never felt more alive being a part of Gen48. Never did she feel so loved and appreciated like this. It finally felt like she belonged. That's why Asami would give anything to stay with Gen48 and make her fans happy, just like the idols used to make her happy. At school who would have thought that the girl they used to push around would become an idol.Additional Info:
- Her symbol is a Bell
- Sometimes she gets confused on who she really is. //
- Asami is a bit tone deaf. That's why she had to thoroughly train how to lip sing for certain stage performances, in case there are notes which were to high or too low for her to handle.
- surprisingly photogenic
- When in her alter ego she prefers choosing clothes that are so modest and comfortable, you wouldn't recognize her as idol "Mimi". Asami wouldn't mind even wearing boy's clothing for the sake of comfort (in fact she does this occasionally).
- Asexual: will turn down anyone and anything that moves
- her mom calls her Maggie1
- Playing her 'role' as as 'Mimi' is what drives Asami forward. It's what gives that feeling of self-worth, which she desperately needs.
- She knits for stress-relief. She can knit small animal toys, and because they'd other-wise overpopulate her room, sells them online, instead to throwing them out.
Yup, I can't speak Japanese.Q: Why did you create this character?
A: Honestly, I haven't followed the 'idol culture' much and I am still left with questions on some things. But I've always been curious of it. Perfect Blue was the one idol anime I watched so far, and it left me feeling very conflicted about idols haha. So yea, I thought it'd interesting to make a character for Gen48, try and see how it turns out to rp an idol
though I have little clue
. Asami was created on the spot, especially for this group. I adore cats, I enjoy drawing cute girls, I wanted a character who was talented but a little cuckoo, ta-dah, Asami Megumi was born.
Also, this is Mango's first group, and I'd love to be a part of it.
